SERVICE CHARGES:
These are the corresponding service charges for money remittances depending on the amount you'll be sending. NOTE: For PESOPAK (door-to-door delivery) of the money remittance, ask the LBC representative for the service charges. I know it's much higher.
PROCESS:
- Before heading to the LBC branch, make sure that you bring a valid ID and if you're a minor, a guardian is required to accompany you.
- Make sure that you know the name (complete and correct) of the consignee or the person who will receiver of the money.
- Go to the nearest LBC branch. This is very important in case the representative of LBC misspells the name of the receiver because you have to go back there (or at least call them) to change it to the correct name that appears in the receiver's ID.
- Find the form above or if you can't find it, ask the representative. Usually, it's found in their counters.
- Completely fill up the form and once done, give it to the LBC staff.
- Wait for your name to be called. They will confirm the information and print out the receipt that includes the tracking number. Sign on the receipt.
- Before leaving the branch, double check the information on the receipt; check your name and the receiver's name if it's complete and correct.
- Message the tracking number to the seller. Better if you would send them a clear copy of the receipt. The tracking number is found at the top left corner of the receipt or the numbers on the white sticker. It usually consist of 12 numbers.
- KEEP THE RECEIPT! Ask the seller when he/she will be delivering your items. Take their word and wait for them to send you a copy of your waybill (courier).
- If the given date or time have passed and your items haven't arrived yet, message the seller again. If he or she doesn't reply within hours, go to the nearest LBC branch, bring a valid ID and a copy of your LBC receipt and check if your payment is still unclaimed. If it's still there, withdraw it and inform the seller. This is to avoid being scammed. Make sure to inform the seller!
If your payment was claimed and the seller blocked you or is no where to be found, ask assistance from the LBC branch and ask when and where the money was claimed. They will not provide other information but as far as I know, if you can go to the LBC branch where the money was claimed, you can complain and probably ask the identity of the person who claimed it. Some staff assist these kind of situations but some don't so don't be surprised if some don't turn out to be as helpful as they should. So make sure that you're ordering from a legit online shop.
We will be making a separate post about claiming remittances or payments through LBC. This will be updated and we will provide a link to that blog post soon.
